As you are almost certainly aware, Elma-Mektron is renowned for providing system enclosure solutions to the highest possible quality with a customer care ethos to match.

The following notes have been specially prepared to assist you in the evaluation of our proposal:

Delivery Information

Unless otherwise stated, prices quoted exclude delivery charges, which we are pleased to pass through ‘at cost’ to our customers.

A high-grade packaging carton to BS1133 is included within our quoted prices.

Stated lead times are typical best estimates, cognisant with component lead times and capacity planning at the time of quoting.

Custom/customised product lead times may be subject to timely responses to dependency items and unforeseen engineering issues that can arise from time to time.

From receipt of order and throughout the project’s life, Elma-Mektron undertake to furnish you with a detailed dependency status report as and when they arise and keep you fully abreast of progress. The report clearly identifies any customer dependencies and their respective due-dates in order to keep to agreed delivery schedules.

Free-Issue Components/Assemblies
Whenever required we are happy to integrate customer free-issue components/sub-assemblies for a small handling charge. Following receipt of order Elma-Mektron will undertake to notify you by way of a detailed dependency report the required delivery dates/quantities of any free issue items. Should mutually agreed delivery dates be adversely affected through delinquent free-issue items, Elma-Mektron may request to invoice for work in progress depending on the circumstances prevailing at the time.

Non Recurring Engineering Charges (NRE)
Part of Elma-Mektron’s success has been our policy to keep custom design/development related NRE costs to an absolute minimum. This has been achieved by way of internal subsidy, and wherever possible basing solutions on pre-existing Elma-Mektron developed and established techniques including a number of innovative and patented technologies. This in turn has enabled customers to enjoy the full application benefits of custom system enclosures without the associated high entry barrier costs.

Elma-Mektron is primarily a manufacturing company with excellent design and engineering capabilities, and as such, we look only to recover in effect, only part of the real design/development costs. Accordingly, unless otherwise negotiated, NRE charges are ‘part’ only and Intellectual Property Rights rests with Elma-Mektron.

Scope of Activity
At Elma-Mektron we pride ourselves on the technical content, comprehensiveness and timely delivery of our proposals.

However, in respect to complex custom enclosure design and development, it is understandably impractical and sometimes impossible to define at the proposal stage of a project a definitive schedule covering every facet of design/engineering activity and configured hardware. Indeed, no matter how well detailed a proposal is, a degree of subjectivity will naturally remain, notwithstanding unforeseen engineering issues and the occasional customer initiated change etc.

Elma-Mektron expend every effort to ensure that all foreseeable costs are accounted for at the proposal stage. This coupled with the detailed nature of our proposals ensures an inherent high level of technical and commercial integrity from the outset. Rest assured that in the event of any unplanned customer change requests or unforeseen engineering issues arising which are likely to have a commercial impact, Elma-Mektron undertake to inform you immediately and reach a reasonable and mutually acceptable agreement.
