Supplychain Excellence

Elma-Mektron has been accepted as a partner in the BAE Systems Supplychain Excellence Programme.

The Supplychain Excellence Programme – Partnering in Action provides the framework for the supply chain development activity throughout BAE Systems. Its focus is on delivering improvements throughout all elements of the supply chain. Strategy planning and pro-active engagement drives the Excellence approach, through Continuous Improvement Planning to achieve the required performance. The application of this process will enhance the learning and development of both BAE Systems and its supply chain, through identifying and sharing best practice which will ultimately reduce cost and business risk to all parties.

With regard to performance BAE Systems continuously monitors each supplier’s performance against a set of agreed key measures. Performance reports are regularly reviewed with the suppliers to support continuous improvement and management reviews.

Quality is judged as a measure of the supplier’s ability to provide ‘Right First Time’ goods and services.

Schedule Adherence is judged as a measure of the supplier’s performance against agreed delivery schedules.

Cost is judged as a measure of BAE Systems and the supplier’s performance in achieving agreed cost targets.

Relationships are judged as a measure of relationships and behaviours on a two-way basis between customers and the supply chain.
